SHERIDAN — The Wyoming Wilderness Association is offering a hike in the Devil Canyon roadless area of the Bighorn National Forest on Aug. 10.

The Devil Canyon roadless area has 34,000 acres of undeveloped and primitive land in a landscape unique to the west slope of the Bighorn Mountains.

Jack Smith, life-long trekker and environmental scientist, will lead the 8-mile round-trip hike.

Primitive trails and steep slopes throughout have given this hike a rating of difficult.

Camping will be available at Porcupine Creek Campground. Participants must bring their own gear and food.
