SHERIDAN — On Friday and Saturday, Worlds of Music, a nonprofit program supported by the Wyoming Arts Council, will present a series of performances, a workshop, a talk and a community dance, held at various locations in Buffalo.
All events will feature Orkestar Zirkonium, a 15 piece pan-Balkan wind, percussion and vocal ensemble from Seattle, Wash.
The events are free and open to the general public.
On Friday at 12:45 p.m. at the Buffalo Senior Center located at 671 W. Fetterman Dr., Buffalo, the band will perform and talk about their music.
Beginning at 7 p.m. they will travel Buffalo’s Main Street from the restaurant Up In Smoke, to the Clear Creek Brewing Company, to the Occidental Hotel Saloon.
On Saturday, a workshop will be offered at the Cowboy Carousel Art Center from 10:30 a.m. to noon and again from 1-2:30 p.m. The workshop is open to all instrumentalists to practice Eastern European music and participants will be given the opportunity to perform at a dance that evening.
At 8 p.m. the band will perform at a dance at the Buffalo American Legion Hall located at 18 Veterans Ave., Buffalo. The band members will also teach a variety of circle and line dances that are traditionally done at weddings and community celebrations in Eastern Europe.
