SHERIDAN — Jeffrey Zdziarski and Bryce Burnell are each sitting in third place in their respective events at the High School National Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs.
Zdziarksi registered a 72-point bareback ride Monday night at the Sweetwater Events Complex, behind a top score of 76 last night. Of the 16 registered scores from the first round, there were only three of more than 70. Wyatt Denny also rode a 72, and Wyatt Gewinner had a 73.
State bareback title winner Justin Kissack of Gillette had a 49 Tuesday morning. Zdziarski, a Sheridan High School incoming senior, finished second in standings this year to qualify for the national finals.
On Tuesday morning, Wyoming state bull riding champion Bryce Burnell of Arvada had a 76-point ride. His was second-best out of the fourth performance, behind a 78 from Dallas Rohrig of Rifle, Colo. Burnell is third overall, behind the 78 and a 79 from this morning.
Action continues throughout the week, with 13 performances in all, culminating Saturday night.
