SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Troopers have dropped their last three games on the road after losing the opening contest of a Billings tournament, 7-0, to the Jackson Giants Thursday.
Jackson scored five in the first and two in the second, but game was a defensive battle after that. Sheridan managed four hits to Jackson’s five, with Drew Adriaens and Mark Munson recording doubles. The Troopers struck out 10 times to the Giants’ four.
Hard-throwing lanky right-hander Kyle Atkinson got the start for Sheridan, but he lasted only two innings, walking six and allowing the seven runs on four hits.

Sheridan plays twice today in Billings, beginning at 12:45 p.m. against the Billings Halos.
They play at 6:15 p.m. against the Laramie Rangers.
Sheridan (14-19) is home Monday for another game against Laramie. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. at Thorne-Rider stadium.
