Re: Wyo-Rodeo board
I want to publicly thank the members of the Sheridan-Wyo-Rodeo board, specifically Vicki Kane, Linda St. Clair and Zane Garstad, for their incredible support of the men and women who have served in the U.S. military and are receiving treatment at the Sheridan VA Medical Center.
This year the board asked if the VAMC could participate in the nightly rodeo events by organizing veterans to walk into the arena with the American flag. I can’t begin to tell you the pride, honor and sheer joy the patients who were able to participate had in just being asked, let alone holding up the flag during the national anthem.
Since 33 percent of our employees are veterans, they were also part of this amazing event and the buzz today around the facility has been electric with both staff and patients talking about the incredible night they held up the U.S. flag at Sheridan’s premier event.
That simple act has had an impact on the lives of many of our patients that we can’t begin to measure.
Bravo to the Sheridan-Wyo-Rodeo board and to the Sheridan community for the hearty welcome and standing ovation when these heroes walked into the arena. We are all looking forward to next year’s Sheridan-Wyo-Rodeo.
