SHERIDAN — The Sheridan swimmers earned their first dual win of season Friday at home.

The Broncs used wins in nine of 12 events to beat Buffalo, 86-65.
Presley Felker swam state qualifying times in two events; he won the 200-meter freestyle in 2:14.62, beating out teammate Jacob Ahlstrom.

Felker also swam a qual-time in the 100-meter butterfly, a 1:07.79 ahead of the 1:11.85 requirement.

Zach Ahlstrom beat out two Buffalo swimmers to win the 100-meter backstroke in 1:10.97, two seconds ahead of the qualifying time.

Other winners for Sheridan on Friday included Ahlstrom in the 50-meter freestyle. His 30.41-second swim beat out teammate Wayde Phelps’ 30.44. Caleb Stacey was third with a 31.62.

Phelps won the 400-meter freestyle in 5:43.08.

Freshmen Drew Reed, Stacey and Jack Aksamit were second-fourth respectively in the 100-meter breaststroke.

The Broncs won all three relays, with their 400-meter freestylet team (the two Ahlstroms, Felker and Trinton Myers) swimming a 4:32.02.

Zach Ahlstrom, Meyers, Phelps and Reed swam 2:13.86 in the 200-meter medley relay race, while Felker, Ahlstrom, Reed and Phelps swam 2:00.14 in the 200-meter freestyle relay.

The Broncs compete in Worland today.
