Story library hosts discussion

STORY — The Story Library will host a discussion series titled “Americans on the Outside” starting in September.

This series will look at stories about the often unrecognized people in our country who live outside the mainstream of culture.

These novels encourage readers to see themselves through the eyes of fellow Americans who don’t, for various reasons, “fit in.”

The discussion group will meet one Monday a month from September through December at 6:30 p.m. at the Story Library.

The discussions will be moderated by Norleen Healy.

Books in this series are:

Sept. 9 discussion — “Bone” by Fay Myenne Ng

Oct. 7 discussion — “Ellen Foster” by Kaye Gibbons

Nov. 4 discussion — “Bronx Primitive” by Kate Simon

Dec. 9 discussion — “A Yellow Raft in Blue Water” by Michael Dorris

The books are available for checkout at the Story Library.
