Soccer: SHS girls fall to No. 1 seed Laramie at regionals

SHERIDAN — After needing extra time plus penalty shootouts Thursday, Sheridan soccer teams ran into No. 1 seeds Friday night.

Already qualified for state after their shootout win over Gillette Friday night and on their second road trip in two days, the Lady Broncs fell 4-0 to Laramie in Cheyenne.

“We played the No. 1 seed and they looked like it,” head coach Tom Racette said. “At the same time we were tired, from both the emotion and physical toll of last night. That’s not an excuse but it is the reality.”

Racette did say that Robbi Ryan, Bailey Baker and Emily Julian all performed well despite the loss.

Sheridan plays Cheyenne Central today at 10 a.m. in the third-fourth place game, looking to position themselves for next weekend’s state tournament in Rock Springs.
