SC women’s soccer enters conference season

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College women’s soccer team finished its preseason scrimmages over the weekend.
Scores were not available from the two games, but the first-year Lady Generals scrimmaged two established soccer programs in the University of Mary and Montana State University-Billings, testing themselves one last weekend before their conference slate opens next week.

“It was good for us in the fact that we didn’t give up,” Skillman said. “We’re trying to work on communication in the field and just the basic fundamentals.”

He said that these two teams were faster than a lot of the teams they’ll see in conference play, and that he was happy with the second-half adjustments his squad made against quality squads.

“Those two teams were head and shoulders above teams in our conference,” he said.

“We know if we do our system we’re going to be fine. Right now it’s cause over problem,” he added.

“We’re worried about learning our system and knowing our roles.”

The SC women travel to Powell to open their conference season against Northwest College next Wednesday.
