Six Sheridan County junior high school rodeo team members have qualified for the National Junior High School Finals Rodeo. The junior high season culminated Friday in Casper, and the NJHF will be held June 23-29 in Gallup, N.M., with 900 athletes from 47 states.
Pictured, from left, with the events they qualified in listed: Kade Koltiska, barrel racing; Emmy Ilgen, breakaway roping, team roping, ribbon roping; Shayanna Cahoy, barrel racing, pole bending, ribbon roping; Makenna Balkenbush breakaway roping, goat tying; Saige Pollard poles, goat tying, breakaway and ribbon roping; and Wheaton Williams team roping.
Pollard was also the state champion all-around cowgirl. The top for in each event qualify for the finals, and 25 qualified from Wyoming this year.
