Sheridan breezes past South to 2-0 4A East start
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan High School boys basketball team started 2-0 in conference play with a 60-53 win Saturday over Cheyenne South.
Sheridan used one of its typical fast starts, leading 22-11 after the first quarter and never allowed South within five points after that.
The Broncs extended their lead to 20 points in the third quarter with two steals and fast break points by Cody Williams and hot outside shooting from Williams and Reed Ritterbusch.
Leading 57-39 to end the third, the game featured disjointed play late as the Broncs were scoreless for seven minutes in the fourth quarter after a Judson White basket in the first minute.
Ritterbusch led the way with 24 points, Dylan Daniels scored 16 points and Williams had 11.
They’ll head to Cheyenne East (1-0, 12-2) and Central Friday and Saturday, looking to keep the fast start going.
