SHERIDAN — Participants in the Sheridan-Wyo-Rodeo parade were judged based on the category of entry, incorporating the theme of “Cowboys and Indians,” creativity and whether the group followed the parade rules.

The following are the winners of the 2013 parade.

Grand Prize winner

First People’s Powwow and all related participants

(As a special note from the judges, the spectacular costumes of the First People’s Powwow added color to the parade. Dancers entertained and captured the attention of all spectators.)

Commercial Category

First place — True Colors

Second place — Heartland Kubota

Third place — Rangeland Hunting Adventures

Horse Category

(Includes costume and mounted individuals, mounted units, light harness and heavy harness)

First place — Gold Buckle Club wagon pulled by Friesan sport horse and “Jade & Marlee” owned by Norena Barbula.

Second place — M & M & The Diamond Cross, heavy harness

Third place — Morgan Flitner, Miss Cody Stampede Lady in Waiting


(Includes community, tax-exempt and youth organizations.)

First place — Eagle Ridge

Second place — Fort Phil Kearney State Historic Site

Third place — Rehabilitation Enterprises of North Eastern Wyoming

Bands and drill units

First place — Drum & Bugle Corp

Second place — Sheridan County Rodeo Marching Band

Third place — Kalif Shriners Oriental Band


First place — Eliot Manufacturing & Iksiks Washanala Little Swan Dancers, Yakima Indian Reservation, Wash.

Second place — First Interstate Bank

Third place — Weaver family on four –wheelers
