SHERIDAN — Following this year’s prom weekend at Sheridan High School, the Sheridan Police Department issued a written statement thanking students, teachers and officers for their assistance throughout the weekend’s series of events

“The Sheridan community can be proud of the exemplary behavior of the students during this exciting time of year,” the statement read. “The students’ behavior is a direct reflection of those people, including parents, family members and school staff who are involved in their lives.”

School Resource Officers Dan White and Sam Damon were also recognized for having monitored both the prom and the school’s after prom party alongside teachers and school administrators.
That event was sponsored by a Sheridan High School student group known as “We are the Change.”

In the same written statement, Damon further commended the SHS students for their behavior over the weekend.

“The students acted respectfully and responsible the entire time and appeared to have a great time,” he said. “It was a real pleasure to be around such positive young adults.”
