SHERIDAN — The Sheridan County High School Rodeo team will host a 2013 NFR Party this Saturday as a fundraiser.
The event will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a happy hour and Hors’ Devours and a silent auction followed by a live auction at 7:30 p.m. of the Top 15 NFR Qualifier Teams and at trip for two to the NFR.
There will be a dance beginning at 9 p.m., featuring the Boot Hill Band.
The Top 15 NFR Qualifiers in each event will be randomly drawn into 15 team positions and auctioned as Calcutta. Results of the NFR Qualifiers will be tracked through all 10 NFR go-rounds daily on the high school rodeo Facebook page at facebook.com/schsrodeo. Calcutta will payout 50 percent of the proceeds to the top 3 winning team owners, and payouts will be sent out after the NFR, or Dec. 14. Proceeds go to support the high school rodeo team, a venture that is not associated with a school district activities office in the county.
Last year the team sent multiple athletes to the High School National Finals rodeo, and expenses are incurred largely by the athletes and their families.
The NFR begins Dec. 5 in Las Vegas.
