SHERIDAN — Sheridan Broncs Alex Williams and Jacob Belus both shot a personal best of 86 at the golf tournament hosted by the Sheridan on Friday at Kendrick Golf Course.
“The girls broke 300 and had their lowest score, which is awesome,” coach Larry Martoglio said. “I think both teams did about as well as we could ask for.”
The boys team had their best showing so far this year, finishing at 325 and placing second. The girls shot a 296, placing third.
Sheridan’s Jack Mavrakis and Bailey Bonnett both tied for fifth with Brody Staten from Natrona with a 78.
“Natrona is the defending state champs and our goal is to beat them,” Martoglio said.
Kayla Allen for Sheridan placed sixth with a 93. Katie Beardslee tied for 10th with Reilly Johnson of Kelly Walsh with a 101.
Nick McAdoo shot a 92 and Brody Bard shot a 103 for Big Horn.
Dylan Patterson shot a 99 and Brock Donston shot a 101 for Tongue River.
“It’s nice to have a tournament at home because it gives you club advantage,” Martoglio said. “You know the course and you know the different elevated greens to select a great club. This helps you when you have the knowledge advantage.”
Big Horn and Tongue River are on their way to compete at Lusk today and Wednesday Sheridan will compete at Buffalo.
