Sheridan Elks Youth Rodeo results

SHERIDAN — The 23rd annual Elks Youth Rodeo was held in Sheridan Aug. 29-30. The rodeo’s 26 events attracted contestants from Canada, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, North Dakota, Colorado, South Dakota, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.

Three arenas, running at the same time, were used to accommodate the 994 entrees each day. Cash and awards of $71,268.00 were presented to contestants ages 17 and younger. These consisted of cash and scholarships of $13,125 and awards valued at $58,143.

Quingy Segelke, 17, of Snyder, Colorado, won the Senior All-Around, a one-year lease of a new Ford truck, provided by Fremont Motors. Segelke has been a contestant in the rodeo since she was a peewee. She has always been willing to help other contestants or the rodeo crew. The Elks are very proud of her and wish her the best in the future.

Jaxon Farella, 9, of Cheyenne, won the All-Around Youth award, a Jackson three-horse slant load trailer, provided by Prime Rate Motors.

Garrett Cunningham, 12, of Broadus, Montana, received a $2,000 scholarship as the All-Around Youth Reserve Champion.

Bodi Mattson, 13, of Sturgis, South Dakota, received the All-Around Youth Reserve Runner-up $1,000.00 scholarship and Emilee Pauley, 16, of Wall, South Dakota, received the Senior Reserve Champion $2,000 scholarship.

The Senior Reserve Runner-up receiving a saddle was Tanner McInerney of Alzada, Montana. The saddle for the Intermediate All-Around went to Garrett Cunningham, 12, of Broadus, Montana. The saddle for the Junior All-Around went to Jaxon Farella, 9, of Cheyenne and the saddle for the Peewee All-Around went to Kinley Ruby, 6, of Gillette.
