SCCD presenting open house ‘Soil, Water and You’

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan County Conservation District is providing a chance for the public to learn about their programs and cost-share opportunities for corral relocations, off-channel stock water, fencing, riparian buffers, grazing management and septic system replacements.“Soil, Water and You” will be the theme of the SCCD open house Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library.

At 6:30 p.m. a seven-minute video will be shown. This video of an on-going small acreage livestock project along Five-Mile Creek in Ranchester was completed in 2012.

After the video, there will be a showing of the Public Broadcasting Service documentary “Surviving the Dust Bowl.”

There will be opportunities to ask questions and sign up for cost-share assistance for eligible projects. This open house and the films are free to attend.
