SHERIDAN — The foreign recruits keep coming for Sheridan College’s Frank McCarthy.
The Lady Generals coach just received another signed letter of intent from an Australian player to join the 2014-15 basketball roster.
Tamara Brine is a 5-foot-10 forward that McCarthy calls a high energy player with good scoring ability.
She handles the ball reasonably well, can get to the rim and finish with both hands, and shoots well from mid range.
Brine most recently played for the South Australia U20 squad and for Cabra College in the Australian School Championships, where she led her team to the semi-finals with 18.3 points per game.
She was also named Sports Woman of the Year for Cabra in 2013, as well as the Sturt ABL women’s team’s rookie with the most potential.
Brine joins the recently signed Sam Moodie, another Australian, as well as Sarah Rawlings, Jess Underberg, Shayne Carter, Shayna Kretschman, Peyton Hinn and Megan Kramer to round out McCarthy’s 2014 recruiting class.
