SHERIDAN — Three Sheridan College freshman have qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo.
The top three finishers out of each event in region standings qualify for the finals. Zeke Thurston was the reserve saddle bronc region champion, C.J. Davidson finished third in bull riding, and Taygen Schuelke was the regional bull riding champion.
Schuelke had the bull riding title wrapped up before this weekend’s rodeo in Laramie, hosted by the University of Wyoming, and he was also the rookie all-around champion.
The Sheridan College men finished sixth in the region for their best finish in three years, and the SC women were eighth.
Sheridan College competes in the Central Rocky Mountain Region. The CNFR is scheduled for June 5-9 at the Casper Events Center.
