SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College men’s basketball team is 12-2 and now 1-0 in North Sub-Region IX play after winning at Western Wyoming Wednesday night.
Opening conference action with an 84-70 win in Rock Springs, Sheridan was led by Josh Adeyeye’s 24 points. Jamir Andrews scored 20, Iakeem Alston had nine points and six assists and Bennie Lufile had seven rebounds.
Sheridan led 43-27 at halftime and held off a run from WWCC that had them within five points early in the second half.
Sheridan was 8-22 from behind the arc, and they shot 31-60 (51 percent) from the floor on the night.
Sheridan College plays at Gillette (10-2, 1-0) Saturday at 7:30 p.m., before moving into their holiday break.
WWCC 68, Lady Generals 59
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College Lady Generals started Sub-Region IX play with a loss Wednesday in Rock Springs.
Sheridan College fell 68-59 to Western Wyoming Community College, dropping to 9-6 overall.
Seirra Toms had 24 points for the Lady Generals and Madison Forney added 14.
Sheridan led 36-31 at halftime in a game that featured eight lead changes and five ties.
Western out-rebounded the Lady Generals 43-33.
The Lady Generals play one more game in 2013, taking on Gillette College (8-3) Saturday at 5:30 p.m., in Gillette.
