SHERIDAN — The Sheridan-Johnson County chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Le Gourmet Room at the Sheridan Holiday Inn.
Dinner can be ordered from the menu if you wish.
Following dinner, about 7:15 p.m., Billings archaeologist Tim Urbaniak will address the society.
Urbaniak will present a program about “Rock Art and Historic Inscriptions of the Yellowstone River Travel Corridor.”
This image-rich presentation will review pictographs, petroglyphs, and historic inscriptions that people have left along the river.
Urbaniak is an instructor in the drafting and design program at Montana State University Billings. He is also the Director of the MSUB Archaeological Field Team and a PhD candidate in the University of Montana Historical Anthropology program.
This presentation is free and the public is invited to attend.
