WEATHER FROM OUR SPONSORS
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Recreation District and Wyoming Wilderness Association are leading a youth trip into the Rock Creek recommended wilderness area in the Bighorn National Forest on Wednesday.
Three chaperones will lead the hikers to see some great views and learn why this area is being considered for wilderness protection.
The outing will include a picnic and the chance to play some games.
This is a six-mile round trip hike on a well-marked trail that can be difficult in certain areas.
All hikers must have sturdy hiking shoes, a small shoulder bag, water bottle, hat, sunscreen and a packed lunch.
Vans will depart the SRD office at 8 a.m. and return by 5 p.m.
The cost is $15. Registration is open until Saturday and limited to eight youth. For more information or to register call Nick Dore at 674-6421.
