RANCHESTER — Deputies with the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the burglary of a liquor store in Ranchester that happened over the weekend.

SCSO Lt. Mark Conrad said the owners of the Silver Spur Bar called Sunday morning after noticing the building had been forcefully broken into and a substantial amount of liquor was missing from the building.

Conrad said the owner’s initial estimate was that about $2,000 worth of alcohol was missing from the liquor storage area adjoining the main bar. While he declined to provide details of the mechanism of entry for the burglary, he indicated there was broken glass on the scene.

Conrad said the investigation is ongoing and the department has identified several persons of interest to be interviewed.

The Silver Spur Bar is located at 408 Dayton St.

Burglary is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
