SHERIDAN — The Big Horn Rams earned a key road win during their rescheduled game against Glenrock Monday night.
Big Horn (4-1) re-asserted itself at the top of 2A football standings, winning 27-7 over the Glenrock Herders.
Arguably the Rams toughest remaining game of the year will come Friday after a short week, as they head to Wheatland (4-1).
Connor McCafferty accounted for all Ram touchdowns, throwing a second quarter 36-yarder to Ryan Kobielusz, punching in a 1-yarder on fourth down in the third quarter, and running in another in the third before finding Colter Carzoli from seven yards out in the fourth.
The Rams biggest touchdown came during the first drive out of the half as they only led 7-0 at the break. McCafferty converted the fourth and goal from the 1-yard line, putting the Rams up by two scores.
Big Horn’s defense successfully stymied Glenrock’s rushing attack spearheaded by the talented Devon Parkinson.
McCafferty now has three games this season with at least four scores. He’s had five twice — against Wright and Greybull.
Big Horn plays in Wheatland at 6 p.m. Friday. They sit one game behind Burns (5-0), their only loss, in 2A East standings.
