SHERIDAN — The Generals have rounded out what has the potential to be a stacked 2013-14 recruiting class.
Preston Wells is their most recent signee, a 6-foot 1-inch guard from Peoria Richwoods High School in Illinois. Wells averaged 15.7 points, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals as a senior. He surpassed 1,000 points in his career hitting 179 3-pointers. The Generals have wrapped up their recruiting class with a series of guards after going big with their first few players.
“Preston is exactly the type of player we were looking for to hopefully round out our recruiting class,” head coach Steve Smiley said.
“He’s a big point guard that has a great feel for the game, defends really well, and can really shoot the ball and stretch the defense. We’ve been following Preston’s progress for quite a while and feel like he’ll be a great addition to our program. He should have an immediate impact this fall.”
Wells was a two-time All-State player and twice voted first-team Mid-State Illinois.
