Jaunita Francis Baas, age 82, passed away November 8, 2009 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Jaunita was born on April 6, 1927 in Bridgeport, Nebraska to Orvin and Bertha Lundy. The family moved to Sheridan when she was small and graduated from Sheridan High School. She married Floyd Louis Baas on January 6, 1945. She and her husband moved to Casper, WY where Floyd was employed. When Floyd was activated with the Wyoming Army National Guard, she stayed in Casper until he was discharged. They moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They then moved to Dallas, TX for 15 years where she was a bank officer for First National Bank. After her husband retired they bought a small ranch in Clifty, Arkansas where they ranched for several years. From there they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas to a golfing resort as they both loved golf. From there they moved to Mesa, Arizona where they lived for several years until her husband’s health declined. They then moved to Lawton, Oklahoma, to be closer to their daughter, Diana Baas Stamper. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Buster Lundy. Survivors include her daughter Diana Bass Stamper of Indiahoma, Oklahoma, a son Dan Baas of Prosper, Texas, two sisters, Nancy Lundy Isakson and Betty Lundy Weekley, both of Sheridan, a sister-in-law, Evelyn (Baas) Black of Sheridan, and six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on August 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Chaplain Arden Haeffner officiating.
