Carol died October 2, 2017 at home in Encinitas, California. She was born on August 8, 1941 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Homer and Lucille Alley, of Dayton, Wyoming. She was the oldest of three children, two brothers, Cedric and Fredric. Both Homer and Lucille were long standing residents of Dayton. Carol graduated from Dayton High School, and the University of Wyoming. After receiving her Degree in Education she started her teaching career in Buffalo. She and her two sons moved to Newport, Oregon where she taught in the high school. They later moved to Encinitas, Californian when she completed her teaching career. She enjoyed spending summers and post retirement time with her parents in Dayton. She was preceded in death by her father, Homer and youngest son, Garth Swift. She is survived by her son, Mike and his wife Debbie of Fallbrook, California, grandchildren Zoe and Logan Swift of Centennial, Colorado, her Mother Lucille, Roseburg, Oregon and brothers, Fred, Roseburg, Oregon and Ced, Bullhead City, Arizona. Carol enjoyed traveling, including trips to Cuba, China, Mexico and Easter Island, always taking photographs of her experiences. She was an artist and painter and loved the Californian beaches. She maintained a close relationship with her three high school friends, Wendy (Adams) Norskog, Frannie (Smee) Ford and Roberta (Howe) Roth. In keeping with Carol’s wisher, a private “farewell” has taken place on Encinitas Beach, California.
