Home|Betty Marie Marshall

September 19, 1929 – April 25, 2017

Betty was born to Amiel and Hattie Kouba in Upton, Wyoming. She grew up there.

At the age of 18, Betty had met Joe Marshall and were married June 23, 1947. They had 4 boys, David, Michael, Dan and Joseph.

They lived on the Old Spaeth Ranch in Gillette and then moved to the Big Horns where they owned a ranch and continued the ranching they loved so much.

Betty absolutely loved ranching and all the work that came with it! She loved to garden, can, fish, play cards. She was a member of the Big Horn Women’s Club. Betty also loved to cook on our wood stove; she would cook for the brandings and holidays with family and friends.

Betty worked at the Stevens Fryburger in Sheridan in the 1980’s. She also worked at the Farmers Co-op in the 90’s, then retired.

Betty will always be remembered for her giving kindness in this world!

Betty Marie is survived by her sons: David (Wendy) Marshall of Gillette; Michael (Cheryl) Marshall of North Dakota; Dan (Lorrie) Marshall of Sheridan; and Joey (Mona) Marshall of Sheridan; seven grandkids and 11 great-grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Amiel and Hattie (VanMeter) Kouba; sister, Dell; and husband, Joe Marshall.

Celebration of Betty’s life will be held at the Family Life Church, 480 South Highway 50, Gillette, on May 9th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.

Donations may be made to the church or organization of the donor’s choice in Betty’s name.
