No. 17 SC women drop OT game, 80-74, in Torrington

SHERIDAN – The Sheridan College women’s basketball team was defeated 80-74 Wednesday night in Torrington.

Stepping out of North Sub-Region conference play for the last time, the Lady Generals fell behind 37-30 at the half, forced overtime, but were outscored 10-4 in the extra period.

Milomilo Nanai scored 23 points, Brodie Bennett scored 17 and Maddie Forney scored 15. Bennett was three of seven from behind the arc.

The two teams were neck-and-neck in the rebounding battle; EWC had the edge 44-42. Eastern Wyoming made six 3s to SC’s three.

Sheridan College resumes North Sub-Region IX play Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock against Central Wyoming College (Riverton).

The Lady Generals moved back up in the NJCAA Top 25 poll this week to No. 17, and lead the conference by one full game over Western Wyoming Community College (Rock Springs) with three regular season games left.
