McAfee, Schasteen at Brinton

SHERIDAN — The Brinton Museum is currently hosting exhibits featuring the works of two artists, Ila McAfee (1897-1995) and Mara Schasteen.

McAfee’s working life spanned more than 60 years in the Taos artist community. Her paintings showcase her love of the American West.

Schasteen is a young artist who has been painting in Sheridan County since 1999. This is her first one-person museum exhibition and is titled “From Spring to Autumn: Memories for My Children.”

The Brinton Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Schasteen’s work will be on display through July 24 and McAfee’s work will be shown through Sept. 1.
