SHERIDAN — Landon’s Greenhouse and Nursery is hosting several free workshops Saturday.

At 10 a.m. Phil Gilmore will present “Compost — the Soil Miracle.” Attendees can learn how to turn table scraps and lawn leavings into rich black compost to nourish gardens.

At 11 a.m. representatives from Sheridan’s city recycling program will be on hand with information and a brief presentation on recycling practices and programs.

Saturday’s final event begins at 1 p.m. and will feature Jessica Mommsen presenting “Building a Fairy Garden.” Mommsen will show examples and offer advice on the best options for building fairy gardens. All of the materials needed to make a fairy garden will be available for purchase and the nursery staff will be available after this class to help attendees build their own. This is a great workshop for children.

Those who wish to attend all three workshops, may bring a lunch and spend the day at Landon’s.

All presentations are free.

Space is limited, so Landon’s requests pre-registration. Call 672-8340 to sign up. More information about Landon’s workshops can be found at
