SHERIDAN — Kortni Sharp led the Lady Eagles to a win over cross-county rival Lady Rams at the 2A regional tournament Friday night, 57-43.
Sharp put up a double-double, sinking a career-high 24 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
Erin Aksamit added 12 points to the Lady Eagles total and Amanda Buller contributed 11 to the win.
Lady Eagles coach Dianne Moser said her team started slow, only earning a 9-6 lead in the first quarter. The team loosened up throughout the rest of the game though, holding the lead for most of the matchup.
“Once again defensively I thought we did a nice job,” Moser said.
The Lady Eagles will play in the regional championship today at 4 p.m. against Southeast. Moser said she’s focused on getting the girls to play more relaxed as they enter more high-pressure games.
The Lady Rams will play in a loser-out game today at 9 a.m. against Sundance. The winner of the game will qualify for the state tournament.
Attempts to reach Big Horn coach Mike Daley were unsuccessful Friday night.
