SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Jets dropped a road e against the Casper Drillers by scores of 16-1 and 14-0 Tuesday night.
“Casper hit the ball well today,” head coach Ryan Murner said. “We got ahead in counts tonight but made too many mistakes with two strikes on their hitters. We need to work on finishing at bats with quality pitches.
“Offensively we struggled with two strikes and could not find ways to put the ball in play,” Murner continued. “Too many strikeouts killed any rallies we tried to make.”
Sheridan managed eight hits in the doubleheader, with Turner Martini recording the Jets only RBI in either game.
The Drillers totaled 14 hits in each game, ending the contests after four and a half innings due to a 10-run mercy rule.
Sheridan will play their next game Sunday at home against the Billings Angels.
The doubleheader starts at 1 p.m.
