SHERIDAN—It was a great evening of baseball for the Sheridan Jets, stringing together two dominating performances in their doubleheader against Casper Prep on Wednesday at Thorne-Rider Stadium.
The Jets jumped out to a 7-4 lead in game one before an 11-run third inning put Casper away for good.
“We came out ready to play tonight,” Jets coach Ryan Murner said. “I thought we attacked good pitches and didn’t get ourselves out at the plate.”
After winning game one 18-4, the Jets didn’t cool down in game two. Every player that came to the plate recorded at least one hit, totaling 23 hits for the game.
It was the Jets’ pitching, though, that stood out to Murner.
“It was nice to see our pitchers finish those innings by attacking their hitters in the strike zone,” Murner said.
The Jets only gave up three runs in game two, which didn’t come until the final inning. The Jets finished the game with a 13-3 victory.
The Jets will play another doubleheader at home tonight against Cody at 3 and 5 p.m.
