SHERIDAN — Wednesday was the 102nd birthday of the Girl Scouting in America, which began on March 12, 1912, in Georgia.

This week was National Girl Scout week and the Sheridan County Girl Scouts celebrated with a variety of activities including community service projects.

Several troops worked together to make gifts for the first baby girl born this week and honored her as the “2014 Girl Scout Baby of Sheridan County.”

Troop 1334 held a food drive on Saturday, donating to the food bags which are given to Sheridan High School students.

Troop 1412 served as worship assistants at First United Methodist Church on Sunday.

Troop 1333 recycled old T-shirts and refrained from using disposable products and processed foods all weekend.
