Generals basketball camp set for June 10-13

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College men’s basketball team will hold its annual summer camp June 10-13 at the Golden Dome.

Coaches Steve Smiley and Dan Magrino will direct the day camp focused on skill, development/shooting and scoring from 8 a.m to noon each day.

“The day camp is a great place for young players to experience early success and build a confident self- image as a player and a person,” reads the camp flier.

“The camp entails all fundamental skills that a basketball player must learn and develop. Shooting, scoring, and offensive moves will be taught and developed.”

The following areas will be covered:
-Skill development and motivation
-A teaching progression and takes into account age and skill differences
-Develop listening skills
-Lengthen attention span
-Defensive technique
-Stance and closeouts
-Help side defense
-Passing and receiving
-Shooting instruction

Cost is $100 per camper and sign-up forms can be picked up at the Dome. Email or call 674-6446 ext. 4000 for more information.
