SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College basketball team added a 6-foot, 6-inch guard to the roster in the new year.
Tredarius McCallum joined the team in January, and will wait for his playing eligibility to begin this fall.
“We’re really excited to add a player of Tre’s caliber at the break,” head coach Steve Smiley said. “This is the perfect situation for an incoming freshman to get acclimated to our school and program, and to get ahead academically.”
McCallum played high school basketball at St. James High School in Myrtle Beach, S.C., before prepping at South Carolina Sports Academy and then joining the Generals.
He played against some of the top NJCAA teams in the country, scoring 14 against Vincennes University, 19 against Olney Central College and 19 against Cape Fear Community College.
“Tre is a multidimensional player that can score in a variety of ways and he has a motor that is always running,” Smiley added. “He’ll be a tremendous player for the Generals beginning in the fall.”
The Generals (18-3, 6-1) look to continue a six-game win streak when they host Central Wyoming College Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome.
