SHERIDAN — Fred and Barbara Fosmire will have their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 24.

Barbara Schunk and Fred Fosmire were married Oct. 24, 1953, at the First Congregational Church in Billings, Mont.

They have lived in six states and Mexico. They lived in Sheridan for a few years starting in 1956 when Fred Fosmire was employed as a psychologist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

After leaving Sheridan, Fred Fosmire was a professor of psychology at the University of Oregon for 24 years, and then an executive with Weyerhaeuser Co. for 10 years.

For the past six years the Fosmires have made their home at The Powder Horn.

They have four children and four grandchildren.

The couple celebrated their anniversary early with parties on Aug. 8, 9 and 10 attended by many relatives and friends. The first party was at their home, the second at the Powder Horn Clubhouse and the third was a picnic at the Schunk Lodge up Red Grade Road.
