SHERIDAN — The Wyoming Department of Transportation will host a basic motorcycle safety course in Sheridan on Aug. 11-13 at Sheridan College.

The Basic Rider Course was developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. The course is designed for those who have little or no riding experience, although experienced riders will also benefit from the course.

It contains 20 hours of instruction, both in the classroom and on-cycle. Courses start Friday evening and continue until Sunday afternoon.

To qualify for the course, you must be at least 15 years old on the day the course begins, be able to ride a bicycle, wear proper protective clothing during on-cycle instruction and have a parent’s written permission if you are younger than 18 years old.

The fee for the course is $50 for Wyoming residents and $150 for non-residents.
