A Sheridan County School District 1 bus tipped onto its side on the Smith Creek bus route early this morning outside Dayton. One 12-year-old student and the driver were on board, but neither appeared to be injured as a result of the event.
Both were transported to Sheridan Memorial Hospital for precautionary reasons. Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Mark Conrad said icy conditions caused the incident and that no citations had been issued. School District 1 Superintendent Marty Kobza said the district has an excellent record of transporting students safely and that school officials were thankful that no one appears to be seriously hurt.
