SHERIDAN — Kirby Coe-Kirkham wrapped up his 56-hole tournament at the Junior America’s Cup Thursday, finishing tied for 56th at 17-over-par.

The Sheridan High School senior shot a 7-over 79 in a very up-and-down final round. He had three birdies on the day, one of which kicked off his round on the 10th hole. All three birdies came on his first nine. But he also had five bogeys and two double-bogeys.

Still, Coe-Kirkham was the top man in the clubhouse for the team Wyoming foursome. The rest of his teammates, Logan Hensley, Jorden James and John McGinley, finished 9-over, 11-over and 12-over, respectively.

Wyoming scored a 707 at the tournament, placing them last at the event.

British Columbia took the team title with a 3-under 645, the only under-par score of the week. The team edged Southern California (648) by three strokes.

British Columbia swept the leaderboards, as Nolan Thoroughgood won the individual crown with an impressive 8-under 208. Southern California’s William Mouw (4-under) and Utah’s Zach Jones (2-under) and Cole Ponich (2-under) were the only under-par finishers for the week.

This was the 45th year for the Junior America’s Cup. It was played at The Home Course in Dupont, Washington.

The girls Junior America’s Cup, featuring SHS’s Victoria Owings, tees off next week in Henderson, Nevada.
