SHERIDAN — Sheridan-native Devan Reilly will get a re-ride for his final bareback go at the College National Finals Rodeo.
Reilly, an Sheridan High School grad and current Gillette College student, is seventh in the overall standings after three days of rodeo at the Casper Events Center, posting a 77 Sunday and a 65.5 Monday.
For Sheridan College, Zeke Thurston managed to score for his second consecutive go in the toughest competition at this year’s CNFR — saddle bronc riding. After riding a 56.5 Sunday, Thurston scored a 59 Tuesday, putting him in 17th place. The SC freshman will get his final go tonight.
Taygen Schuelke missed a score on his second straight bull ride, and he’ll wait until Friday for his final try. CJ Davidson, with two no scores as well, gets his final bull ride Thursday.
While the SC cowboys have yet to accrue any team points, Reilly’s Gillette College team is fifth in the men’s standings with 225 points, behind leader Tarleton State University’s 300. Eastern Wyoming is seventh and the University of Wyoming is 49th.
