SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Senior Center will host a watercolor painting course with Gail Sidletsky.

The class will begin Sept. 12 and run from 10 a.m. to noon each Tuesday for eight weeks.

The cost to participate is $25 per person for seniors registered with the center and $30 for all others.

Those interested are asked to sign up by Sept. 11 by calling the Sheridan Senior Center at 672-2240. A supply list will be provided.

Livestrong at the YMCA is a national program committed to reaching out to cancer survivors who deserve the opportunity to reclaim or gain their health following their cancer diagnosis and beyond. 

The 12-week program is free, takes place in a clean and supportive environment and is facilitated by specially trained instructors. The goal of this program is to provide cancer survivors with a unique healing experience in a supportive environment. It is open to all cancer survivors whether newly diagnosed or 20 years out.

Guided tours of the new facility will follow introductory speeches outside of the lobby doors on the east side of the building at 211 Smith St.

SHERIDAN — The last Third Thursday street festival of the summer will take place this week in downtown Sheridan.

The event will take place from 5-9 p.m. on Grinnell Plaza and Main Street. The evening will include recognition of Sheridan High School varsity sports teams. The Broncs and the SHS cheerleaders will be on the main stage at 7 p.m. to lead a pep rally. Live music will begin at 5:30 p.m. by Wyoming on the main stage.

There will also be a farmers market in coordination with the street festival.

Portable Masterpieces @ The WYO Theater

SHERIDAN — Before the Internet and television, there was radio. Before radio was Vaudeville. The small orchestras of radio shows and vaudeville stages performed music from the golden days of steamer trunks, wicker chairs, potted palms and all-night soirees. 

A program at the WYO Theater will pay homage to those past forms of performance Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with the presentation of “Portable Masterpieces” by Trinkle Brass Works. 

The event will include an evening of ragtime, light classical and snappy radio tunes.

Tickets to the show cost $5.50 to $14.50 and are available through the WYO Theater box office, by phone at 672-9084 or online at wyotheater.com.

SHERIDAN — The last Third Thursday street festival of the summer will take place this week in downtown Sheridan.

The event will take place from 5-9 p.m. on Grinnell Plaza and Main Street. The evening will include recognition of Sheridan High School varsity sports teams. The Broncs and the SHS cheerleaders will be on the main stage at 7 p.m. to lead a pep rally. Live music will begin at 5:30 p.m. by Wyoming on the main stage.

There will also be a farmers market in coordination with the street festival.

Portable Masterpieces @ The WYO Theater

SHERIDAN — Before the Internet and television, there was radio. Before radio was Vaudeville. The small orchestras of radio shows and vaudeville stages performed music from the golden days of steamer trunks, wicker chairs, potted palms and all-night soirees. 

A program at the WYO Theater will pay homage to those past forms of performance Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with the presentation of “Portable Masterpieces” by Trinkle Brass Works. 

The event will include an evening of ragtime, light classical and snappy radio tunes.
