Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce luncheon @ Best Western Sheridan Center

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly luncheon June 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Best Western Sheridan Center.
The luncheon will include a presentation on local school districts and Sheridan College.
The cost of the buffet lunch is $17 per person. No reservation are needed.
The Best Western Sheridan Center is located at 612 N. Main St.

SHERIDAN — The Big Horn Mountain Polka Club will meet Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge.

Just Us Two of Billings, Montana, will provide the music.

Trap Shoot @ Sheridan County Sportsmen’s Association

SHERIDAN — The 102nd annual Wyoming State Trap Shoot will take place Wednesday through Sunday at the Sheridan County Sportsmen’s Association.

Hundreds of shooters are expected to compete.

Each day of activities will begin at approximately 8 a.m.

Band at Kendrick Park @ Kendrick Park

SHERIDAN — The United States Air Force Academy Concert Band from Colorado Springs, Colorado, will perform a free concert in Kendrick Park on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

Admission is free and is part of the group’s Independence Day Celebration Tour through South Dakota and Wyoming. The concert is open to the public.

The afternoon will feature a diverse repertoire that celebrates the patriotic spirit of the American people and the Air Force’s 70th birthday, and will pay special tribute to veterans.

The United States Air Force Academy Concert Band represents the Air Force Academy, the leading institution for educating, training and inspiring men and women to become officers of character. The Concert Band is composed of 55 active duty Air Force professionals and is one of nine Academy Band ensembles.

Akcita Win meeting @ Ole's Pizza

SHERIDAN — The next Akcita Win monthly meeting will take place at Ole’s Pizza on Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.
The guest speaker will be Kathy Kay from the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter. The group will have a “pet shower” with those attending bringing toys, treats, dog collars, bleach, laundry detergent or anything they can think of to donate to the shelter.
Akcita Win is a women’s club that meets once a month and is open to the public, however reservations need to be called to Connie Goodwin at 751-2550.
Ole’s Pizza is located at 927 Coffeen Ave.

Step Afrika! @ Whitney Center for the Arts

SHERIDAN — The Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College will host a performance by Step Afrika on Sept. 6 at 9 p.m.
Step Afrika is a dance company dedicated to the African American tradition of “stepping.”
Tickets for the event cost $21 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students (balcony seating only). Tickets are available through the WYO Theater box office, at wyotheater.com or by calling 672-9084.
The Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College is located at 3059 Coffeen Ave.

Flying Cowboys fly-in

SHERIDAN — The Flying Cowboys will host the annual fly-in Friday and Saturday at the Sheridan County Sportsman’s Club.

The fly-in of remote-controlled planes will include pilots from five states with 200 planes.

Lancifer @ The WYO Theater

SHERIDAN — Lancifer will perform at the WYO Theater on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Lancifer has performed in Wyoming, Tennessee, Germany and Thailand, among other places. 

He’ll return to Sheridan with special guest Luka Sol.

Tickets for the show cost $20.50 per adults, $17 per senior and $12.50 per students. Tickets are available online at wyotheater.com, at the theater box office and by phone at 672-9084.
