SHERIDAN — EMIT Technologies, the Recreation District and the Wellness Council have partnered to present ParkFit 2014. Every Wednesday throughout the summer from 12:10-12:50 p.m. a free fitness class will be offered at one of the local parks. The next session will be “Fun and functional circuits” by PurEnergy Wednesday at Sheltered Acres. A full schedule of ParkFit events can be seen at www.wellnesscouncilsc.org. SHERIDAN— Registration is now open for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) class to be held on Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18, from 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Simulation Center, 245 Broadway St. The two-day ASIST class is designed to supplement a caregiver’s abilities to assist an at risk person. Children and their families are invited to check on the garden and learn how to care for the plants that are growing. From staff reports SHERIDAN— Sheridan County is launching a county-wide contest to design a new logo that represents the county in a unique and identifying way. Submissions will be accepted through Thursday, Aug. 7. The County Commission will select up to 10 semi-finalists to be presented to the public for voting. Finalists will each receive $50 in Chamber Bucks, and the contest winner will receive $250 in Chamber Bucks.
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Farmers Market will be moved farther up Grinnell Street this Thursday, in front of The Sheridan Press, to celebrate the Third Thursday Street Festival. From 5-7 p.m. vendors will sell produce, arts and crafts and more as live music, children’s activities, demonstrations and nonprofit booths are hosted. Attendance is free for customers and vendor booths are available to rent.
