Nov 25 @ 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

SHERIDAN — Two Wyoming writers, including one from Sheridan, will celebrate Small Business Saturday at Sheridan Stationery, Books and Gallery with a book signing Saturday from 1:30-3 p.m.

Both writers are featured in “Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Dog Really Did That?” Bonnie Sargent is a poet, author and writer living in Sheridan; her story is about two basset hounds she rescued and adopted. This is her first story in a “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book.

She will be joined by Casper author and freelance writer, Gayle Irwin. Irwin’s story in the book is her seventh short story in the internationally-known series. Her story, “Jazmine’s Journey,” reflects upon the first transport she conducted for a dog rescue organization.

Both Sargent and Irwin are members of Wyoming Writers, Inc..

Their appearance in Sheridan coincides with Adopt-a-Senior Pet Month, which occurs annually in November. The writers plan to donate a percentage of book sale proceeds to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter.

Free activity sheets for children, as well as bookmarks, will be given with each book purchase. A drawing for a free children’s story written by Irwin will also take place.
