FAB Conference Friday and Saturday @ Sheridan College

SHERIDAN— The FAB (for, about, by) women’s conference is Friday and Saturday. Friday is the Woman of the Year banquet with last year’s winner, Erin Kilbride as the keynote speaker. Saturday is the conference, with keynote speaker Stephanie Armstrong. The banquet is $50 per ticket, the conference is $50, and for both nights, tickets are $75. Landon’s workshops @ Landon's Greenhouse

SHERIDAN—Landon’s Greenhouse invites the public to attend two workshops this Saturday. At 10 a.m., the workshop will focus on pumpkin centerpieces. The cost is $19.99 for the workshop. Then at 2 p.m. you can bring in any container you want for a Fall fairy gardening makeover. There will be a fee for soil used and Landon’s plants and decor you decorate your garden with. Free Caregiver Conference @ Holiday Inn

SHERIDAN—There will be a free Caregiver Conference at the Holiday Inn Oct. 3 and 4. All caregivers all welcome and the conference will feature general information and focused sessions on Alzheimer’s Disease. ‘Science Saturday’ @ Sheridan College Science Center

Cemetery tours

SHERIDAN— The Sheridan County Museum is hosting tours of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. These tours will explore the community’s past by venturing to the final resting places of some of its most famous or infamous citizens. The Cemetery Tours will be held on Sunday, at 4 p.m. and then again on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. Tour admission is $5 per person and due to content, and the tours are limited to ages 13 and above. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Purchase tickers at the Sheridan County Museum. For more information call John Woodward at 307-675-1150.

Healthy Back Class @ Sheridan YMCA

SHERIDAN— The Sheridan YMCA is offering a free “Healthy Back Class” designed by medical professionals to help individuals strengthen their backs. It is a three week class, and the class is limited to 15 participants. You must sign up to be in the class by calling the YMCA at 674-7488. The program starts on Monday and runs Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:15-1:15 p.m. through Nov. 5.

Plan Your Retirement on Your Own Terms @ The Powder Horn clubhouse

SHERIDAN — A free retirement strategy presentation will be held Thursday at the Powder Horn Clubhouse.

The event, “Plan Your Retirement on Your Own Terms,” will include cocktails and conversation about retirement preparation and strategies to maximize Social Security benefits.

The program will begin at 4:30 p.m. with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The retirement presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Organizers ask those planning to attend to RSVP by the end of today. To RSVP, call 674-6288.

Birding at The Brinton @ The Brinton Museum

BIG HORN — Area residents are invited to join instructor Dr. Jackie Canterbury for “Birding at The Brinton” Saturday from 9-11 a.m.

All ages and abilities are welcome, especially beginners.

This event is free and open to the public.
