Nothing but nets @ Kendrick Park

SHERIDAN— Help the Sheridan Jaycees raise funds to prevent malaria in Africa. On Thursday, August 7, there will be family fun at Kendrick Park starting at 6 p.m. There will be live entertainment from the Boot Hill band, dance lessons, silent auction, food vendors, and adult beverages. This is a fundraiser for Nothing but Nets, an international organization that supplies bed nets to African families. The event is free, but donations are appreciated. Taste of Sheridan @ Thorne-Rider Park

SHERIDAN— The North Main Association presents a Taste of Sheridan, Sunday, August 10. Come try foods from ten different vendors at Thorne-Rider park from 3-7 p.m. Ten tickets may be purchased at the entrance for $20 and there is a beer and wine garden, kids’ games, and live music performed by Canary Joe, Instagators, and Side Track. Concert in the Park directed by Diane Knutson @ Kendrick Park

SHERIDAN — The next Concert in the Park will be held Tuesday and will feature the Sheridan Concert Band. From 7:30-9 p.m. in the Kendrick Park Bandshell, the concert will be directed by Diane Knutson. The concert is free and open to all members of the community. ‘This and That’ artist reception @ SAGE Exhibit Gallery

SHERIDAN— The SAGE Exhibit Gallery proudly hosts an August art exhibition by members Edre Maier and Sally Labore titled, “This and That.” The show runs August 4-31, with an Artists’ Reception on August 14, 5:30-7 p.m. The public is welcome, and refreshments will be served. The SAGE Exhibit Gallery is located in what is now the Sheridan Chamber of Commerce on 171 Main St. For more information call 674-1970.

Big Horn Mountain Polka Club dance @ Elks Lodge

Farmer’s Market and Third Thursday Street Fest @ Grinnell Street Plaza

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Farmers Market will be moved farther up Grinnell Street this Thursday, in front of The Sheridan Press, to celebrate the Third Thursday Street Festival.

From 5-7 p.m. vendors will sell produce, arts and crafts and more as live music, children’s activities, demonstrations and nonprofit booths are hosted.

Rockin Jake will perform from 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m. on the Main Stage and Canary Joe will perform at the same time on Loucks and Main Street.

The Wyoming Drifters at the Senior Center @ Sheridan Senior Center

Big Horn Market @ BIg Horn Mercantile

BIG HORN— The first annual Big Horn Market will be Saturday, Aug. 30th from 9a.m.-2 p.m. Collette Eliason has been working with the Smokehouse and the Big Horn Mercantile to participate through great food and music. Although the event is small, there is a nice variety of participants from local artists paintings, pottery, baked goods (gluten free), home goods, locally made bath and body items, face-painting, wagon rides, locally grown vegetables and kids’ activities. Big Horn Heritage Days will also bring live music to the Big Horn Smokehouse Friday and Saturday night. For more information call Collette Eliason at 752-3764.

‘Jentel Presents’ on Tuesday @ Sagebrush Community Art Center

SHERIDAN—Jentel Artist Residency Program is pleased to present this month’s residents in an event open to the public. “Jentel Presents” is on Tuesday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Sagebrush Community Art Center, on the corner of Fifth and Broadway. Presenters include: Sarah Tortora, a mixed media sculptor, JS Bird, a painter, Marie Carvalho, a poet, Steve Adams, a creative non-fiction writer, Wendy Kveck, an oil painter and Devon Midori Hale, a graphite artist.
