Parent Partnership meeting @ Sheridan High School library

The Parent Partnership will meet next Monday at Sheridan High School. On March 10 at 6 p.m. topics will include teacher appreciation in May, expanding the adoption of technology, the Graduation Task Force Executive Summary and an overview of “where we’ve been, where we are and where we are going,” at SHS. The meeting is open to all members of the public and their ideas or suggestions. For more information call Dirlene Wheeler at 672-2495 extension 3108. Writing attention-grabbing resumes class for 50 and older @ Sheridan College Main Street

Sheridan College’s Center for Workforce and Community Education and the American Association of Community Colleges are presenting a series of classes for people age 50 and over.
Classes will be held the second Tuesday of each month starting in September and ending in June.
The class schedule is:
• March 11 — writing attention-grabbing resumes
• April 8 — successful interviews
• May 13 — critical thinking
• June 10 — providing “wow” customer service
All classes are free and will be held from 8-11 a.m. at Sheridan College Main Street, 171 N. Main St. Pre-registration is required.

Trail End Guilds meeting @ Trail End State Historic Site

The Trail End Guilds will meet Tuesday.

The meeting will commence at 7 p.m. at the Trail End State Historic Site.

TEG sponsors at least one major event each year, the Holiday Open House during the first weekend of December.

Membership dues start at $5 a year and meetings are typically held monthly on the second Tuesday.

Guests are welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting.

The Trail End State Historic Site is located at 400 Clarendon Ave.

Landon’s Greenhouse workshops @ Landon’s Greenhouse and Nursery

Landon’s Greenhouse and Nursery is hosting three free workshops on Saturday. At 10 a.m. “Easy Composting” will be presented by Phil Gilmore offering tips on composting, including samples available for viewing and storage method discussions. At 11 a.m. members of the city recycling program will talk about the many options for recycling in Sheridan County. At 1 p.m. Bob Krumm will present “Wild and Edible Small Fruits and Berries” an informative workshop. Space is limited so pre-registration is recommended. Sheridan Chapter AARP meeting @ Sheridan Senior Center

The Sheridan Chapter of the AARP will hold a meeting Friday. Commencing at 5:30 p.m. the community is invited to a potluck and bingo night at the Sheridan Senior Center. The event is free and open to everyone. Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish to share and their own place settings. The senior center is located at 211 Smith St.

ASIST @ Wyoming Simulation Center

SHERIDAN— Registration is now open for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) class to be held on Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18, from 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Simulation Center, 245 Broadway St. The two-day ASIST class is designed to supplement a caregiver’s abilities to assist an at risk person. This class is free, however, space is limited so please contact Sydney Rowe at 620-9995 or email srowe@pmowyo.org.
