SHERIDAN — The annual Pheasants Forever Banquet and Auction will be held Feb. 22.
The fundraising buffet banquet benefits the Sheridan/Johnson County chapter of Pheasants Forever and will be held at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall from 5:30-10 p.m.
Tickets are $60 each or $90 per couple and purchases include a membership in the organization.
Raffle tickets for a Can-Am 500 four-wheeler and a raffle for 10 special guns will be sold separately for $20 each.
Raffle tickets and banquet tickets are available now at Parker Glass, located at 125 W. Brundage St., and Sheridan Stationery located at 206 N. Main St.

The Sheridan Community Land Trust will host their 2014 annual open house on Feb. 27.
From 5-8 p.m. at the Historic Sheridan Inn, Polish appetizers and music will be offered in honor of the completion of the Black Diamond Historic Byway.
Mike Kuzara, a one-man polka band, will perform and attendees will have the opportunity to listen to the Byway audio tour.
The 2013 annual report and 2014 upcoming projects will also be presented.
Raffles winners will also be drawn.

SHERIDAN — Warehouse 201 will host the next Thankful Thursday event on Thursday.
From 5:30-8 p.m. Sheridan Foster Parents Exchange will be honored with the fundraiser.
Admission is free, a silent and live auction will be held, live music will be played by Terry Garrison and all proceeds will benefit the organization.
Tickets will be sold at the door for $25 and will offer 10 percent off purchases made throughout the evening, a $250 cash give-away, door prizes and other surprises.

The Best of the West BBQ Fest committee will host a Fat Tuesday celebration to kick-off their fundraising season. On Tuesday at 6 p.m. complimentary appetizers and music by the Teka Brock Band will be provided at the Black Tooth Brewery. “Sundae cups” of coleslaw, baked beans and BBQ pork will be sold with all proceeds supporting the Best of the West BBQ Fest competition. The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services with the Low-Income Weatherization Program and the Montana State University Extension Housing Program, is sponsoring an event to be held in Sheridan on Thursday.
“EPA/HUD Renovation, Repair and Painting Initial Training” will be held at the Holiday Inn from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The eight hour course developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in collaboration with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development will train attendees how to work safely in housing with lead-based paint and comply with EPA’s RRP rule, and HUD’s Lead Safe Home rule.
Attendees will be given a Certified Renovators photo ID which is valid for five years.
The course hold a value of $200 but is being offered in Sheridan for free thanks to the presenting sponsors.

The 2014 Wild West Wine Fest is coming March 7 to Warehouse 201. This annual primary fundraiser for the Downtown Sheridan Association will serve heavy hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening and present over 100 wines, beers and spirits to taste. Tickets are available now for $50 per person, which includes food, alcohol tastings, a complimentary tasting glass, a tasting booklet and a bidding number for the auction. The Sheridan Public Arts Committee and the Sheridan Artists’ Guild have partnered to offer a presentation and workshop on fundraising. Jack Miller of the Miller Group will lead “Fundraising: why and how” tomorrow at the Downtown Sheridan Association Community Room. Commencing at 1:30 p.m., Miller will give an overview of fundraising in America and discuss topics including how to organize for success, techniques for fundraising, steps for creating a multiple year campaign and keeping track of pledges and mailing lists. Miller is a nationally recognized strategist and lecturer with 45 years of experience as a management consultant in philanthropy. The United Methodist Women will host the annual Spring Salad Luncheon on Thursday. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church “March Gladness” will serve an all-you-can eat lunch for $7 a person. The proceeds will benefit the UMW mission projects. The Volunteers of America Northern Rockies will host their annual Empty Bowl Event Thursday. The fundraising event serves attendees a simple dinner emulating what one might eat at a soup kitchen served in a handcrafted bowl and accompanied by music from Canary Joe, a silent auction, face painting for kids and more. Attendees keep their dinner bowls as reminders about homelessness. The event will run from 5-8 p.m. at the Sheridan County YMCA. Tickets are available at the door for $25 per family, $10 for adults, $5 for kids and children under five are free. All proceeds benefit the Sheridan Community Homeless Shelter. A Stroke Awareness fundraiser on behalf of Troy Winder of the Sunset Cafe will be held at Tongue River Middle School on Friday.
